FINALLY...

Erlyna decided to take her first few steps! She actually started walking yesterday, 2 days shy of her turning 15 months. Am delighted to finally see her walking (wobbly steps though). But she's very fast when she wanna walk towards the TV especially when her favourite ad is showing. Really dian shi mi lei... She's particularly fond of the KFC kiddy club ad and the two SKII's ad. haha.. KFC I can understand cos of the kids.. But why SKII huh? *scratch head*

Now, when I wanna hold her when she walks, she will push my hands away. Haha..

Tooth Fairy Visiting

No wonder Erlyna had been super cranky for the pass few days. This blur mummy here didn't realise that she has new teeth erupting. This time round, her 2 upper lateral incisor decide to erupt. First she had her lower central incisor, next her upper central incisor and now her upper lateral incisor.. Total of 6 teeth.

Cranky, cranky and more crankiness

My my my.... Erlyna is super cranky I must say... due to her big two top front teeth cutting through her gums. Ouch. Papa commented "Wow.. Didn't know that teething is such a terrible process. How long is it gonna last?" Ah-bah then! U think teething is so easy? Her gums are itchy, painful and swollen. But some babies breeze through teething though, just like Le-Ann, my sister-in-law's gal.

Gotta rely on loads of teething gel now. She's refusing porridge. Gotta bluff her, coax her before she willingly opens her mouth to eat. She's not taking her afternoon naps either. Sigh. Woke up at 12pm all the way till evening time. Initially thought she would sleep at 7 plus after her dinner but NOOOOOOO.. She still wanna play! Papa was off to range and I had to entertain her.

So, I read to her from her little cloth book. There's a big flower on every page of her book and I used her hand to touch the flower telling her that's a 'flower'. After teaching a few times, I asked her to show me the flower and she did! After a while, she got tired of the book and when I asked her where the flower was, she threw the book away. So we tried a different book. Her Old Mcdonald counting cloth book.

Number One shows a lone rooster hidden behind a closed cloth door which u have to open to peek at it. Kept repeating rooster to her and soon, she could open the door to show me when I asked her to show me the rooster. And when she did that, she would look at me and then at the rooster, as if asking me if she did it correctly. Really BTH lor. So cute and fun. I would then praise her when she did it correctly and she would clapped her hands in delight. hahaha.

I know alot of babies at this age are already doing such things but hor, this mummy here quite lazy lah. I will try to read to her more often now. Quite fun. She can't talk as yet so when she wants me to read to her, she would pass me her book. Hee. And when u read to her, she will really sit and listen, looking at the words intently. So cute lor.

Fed her milk at around 9-ish and she KO straight.

Finally.....

Erlyna decided all on her own that she would take the next step and started clapping.

Was changing her diapers as per usual, preparing her for bedtime. I didn't know what prompted her but she just started clapping for no apparent reason. It actually took this sleepy and tired mummy quite a while to realise that the 'piak piak piak' sound came from her clapping! Ahhhhh... those soft little 'piak piak' sounds is one of the best piece of music to your ears.

Am thinking if it could be coincidence that she clapped, I tried getting her to mimic me and to my delight, she clapped again!

She must be pretty delighted with her newfound skill for the clappings kept coming and coming even after I switched off the lights for bedtime.

Some might think I am getting excited over nothing for clapping isn’t something difficult to do. All it takes is slapping your hands together to make a sort of noise. But it's really such an amazing sight and it makes it all that much better especially when she is your own baby. It is so amazing it's like receiving a special gift from your special someone that just touches your heart and makes you remember the day forever.

My little Erlyna is growing up!

Slowly but surely....

Erlyna’s little pearlie has finally erupted. Just one tiny little bottom tooth (1 outta 20). Though she’s a late bloomer (yan dao Jerald didi already has 6 teeth), I’m still so happy! Was cleaning her gums as usual this morning before her bath when I thought I felt something sharp. To my delight, I saw the white cap on her gums.

Yay! I officially declare Erlyna is no longer bogay!
